Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of stopsendingresumes.com and the Authority Profile™ services (together, the "Service"), operated by Stop Sending Resumes ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Service — including requesting a free audit, purchasing a plan, or browsing the site — you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Our services
Authority Profile™ builds personal branding websites, redesigned resumes, and LinkedIn audits for professionals, based on materials you provide (resume content, LinkedIn profile, headshot, and related career information). Specific deliverables, timelines, and pricing tiers are described on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
Accounts & accurate information
When you submit an audit request, onboard as a client, or purchase a plan, you agree to provide accurate, current information. You're responsible for the accuracy of the professional content you supply — we build from what you give us and don't independently verify employment history, titles, or credentials.
Content you provide
You retain ownership of the resume content, LinkedIn material, photos, and other information you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a license to use, reproduce, and adapt it solely to produce and deliver your requested deliverables (resume, profile page, audit) and to operate the Service.
You confirm that you have the right to submit Your Content — including any photos or third-party material — and that doing so doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
The free audit
Free LinkedIn audits are provided as a marketing offer and are based solely on the material you submit (typically a LinkedIn PDF export). Audits are scored using our internal framework and reflect our assessment of your public digital presence — they are opinions, not guarantees of job-search outcomes, interview results, or hiring decisions.
Payment, plans & renewal
Paid plans are billed according to the pricing and billing cycle (monthly or annual) selected at checkout. Annual plans include hosting, ongoing text and image changes within reasonable scope, and a refreshed LinkedIn audit each year, as described on our pricing page at time of purchase. Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand.
Cancellation & refunds
You may cancel your plan at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then. Because deliverables involve custom work (resume writing, page design, audit scoring) that begins promptly after purchase, fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion.
Intellectual property
The Service's design system, templates, code, copy frameworks, and branding (including "Authority Profile™") are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. Your finished deliverable (your resume, your profile page content, your audit) is yours to use, share, and link to. The underlying template, layout code, and design system remain ours.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: misrepresent your identity or credentials in content you submit; use the Service to build or host content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringing; attempt to disrupt, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service beyond normal use; or resell access to the Service without our written permission.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee specific job-search, hiring, interview, or income outcomes from using Authority Profile™ deliverables — results depend on many factors outside our control. Audit scores reflect our assessment framework, not a certified or universal industry standard.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms, non-payment, or misuse. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.
